How to make stuff people want to buy…

You’re a solo creator.

You want to make cool stuff for the people you serve (and you’d really like them to buy it). It’s hard to spend your valuable time and energy creating your next big idea, only to have it flop on the floor like a fish once you launch it.

The key is to work inside-out.

Most creators start with the idea. They get a flash of inspiration, shut the door, and work feverishly to ship this great idea. Only, once the release day comes, the audience doesn’t buy.

There’s a reason.

Just because you made it doesn’t mean they will buy it. You started in the wrong order. Instead, start with the people you serve.

Ask them what they don’t want.

Survey your email list and ask them one simple question. Ask them if they could wave a magic wand and change one thing about their current situation (in your niche), what would they change?

We have a terrible time explaining what we want, because we haven’t seen it yet. However, we’re really good at sharing what we don’t want.
