One New York Deli changed it all. The Lindy Effect is the model that the longer some has been around the longer it will last into the future. Named after a deli of the same name, this powerful concept creates evergreen sales for your work, long after you produce it.

If your book sells next year too, it’s likely to sell again the year after.

If you want your work to become a classic, in a different catagory above what’s current and trending, you’ve got to let go of some things:

  • No more virality
  • No more awards
  • No more big headlines

Instead, you build something for the fans.

You choose classic topics, but with a new twist. Look at the way Ryan Holiday turned ancient Roman philosophy into a multi-million dollar empire.

Start with a framework that’s proven and already Lindy-fied.

Look at classical literature, classic stories, classic models of thinking. Take that model and put your own solution around it. Like a nice, warm blanket.

  • Choose a project that’s never been done (be first to market)
